February 2009 Kenya Trip

On Monday morning, I left 20 foot drifts of snow at my house in North Dakota with freezing temperatures and began my trip to Kenya. I arrived Tuesday night and fell into bed only to lay awake because of the time difference, the next day the clock read 1:00 pm when my eyes finally opened.

Kenya is in the midst of a drought with no rain since October. The water tanks at our house are empty so we are now having to purchase water. At home in states I take water for granted, here I learn to appreciate it and conserve!

Wednesday night, it was back to the airport to pick up Lynette Cook, my sister. Thursday was spent getting the house cleaned and in order.

Today was back to Nairobi taking care of the financial arrangements for the Mission Trip group coming in March with Kim DeWitt.

We had planned to visit the Esokuta station tomorrow but because Lynette has been unwell, we will stay and rest tomorrow.
